Efficient culling techniques for interactive deformable NURBS surfaces on GPU [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
NURBS (Non-uniform rational B-splines) surfaces are the standard freeform representation in Computer- Aided Design (CAD) applications. Rendering NURBS surfaces accurately while they are interactively manipulated and deformed is a challenging task.

Aerodynamic Characteristics Optimization Design of the HALE Joined‐Wing Configuration UAV

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study investigates the factors influencing the aerodynamic performance enhancement of the rear wing of the joined‐wing configuration UAVs by analyzing the flow field structure and flow mechanisms before and after airfoil optimization. Correspondingly, an optimization design concept tailored to joined‐wing aircraft is proposed. Focusing on the rear

Unstructured grids on NURBS surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes11th Applied Aerodynamics Conference, 1993
A simple and efficient computational method is presented for unstructured surface grid generation. This method is built upon an advancing front technique combined with grid projection. The projection technique is based on a Newton-Raphson method. This combined approach has been successfully implemented for structured and unstructured grids.

NURBS surfaces of revolution

open access: yes, 2018
The goal of this bachelor’s thesis is to give an overview of NURBS surfaces of revolution. NURBS surfaces are rational B-spline surfaces, which allows for construction of conics, hence anuloid, sphere and other surfaces of revolution.
