Whether a polyethylene terephthalate bottle cap can be opened could serve as a common indicator for locomotive syndrome, frailty and sarcopenia

This study demonstrated that the inability to open a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle cap was associated with a 2.72‐fold increased risk of locomotive syndrome (LS) stages 2 and 3, 3.38‐fold for frailty, and 3.61‐fold for sarcopenia. Moreover, this inability showed potential as a simple case‐finding tool for identifying individuals at risk of LS
