Determined to make a difference : a study of public health nursing practice with vulnerable families : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Nursing at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Public health nurses have traditionally worked with vulnerable families in ways that are relational, client driven and contextual, an approach that has been described as a health promoting model of care.

Ubc9‐Mediated SUMOylation of RPL3, an Unappreciated Mechanism against Hepatocyte Senescence by Repressing the DHX9‐p16 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liver aging is characterized by a decline in the expression of the SUMO‐conjugating enzyme Ubc9, resulting in reduced SUMOylation levels in hepatocytes, particularly in the case of ribosomal protein RPL3. Disruption of RPL3 SUMOylation increases its nuclear translocation. Interestingly, ribosome‐free RPL3 facilitates the recruitment of helicase DHX9 to

Synergistic Anti‐Cancer Therapy Through Ultrasound‐Induced Piezocatalytic Therapy and Tumor Treatment Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel, wearable anti‐cancer platform synergistically combines tumor treating fields (TTFs) and piezocatalytic therapy (PCT) via ultrasound‐activated, lead‐free piezocomposites. This strategy efficiently suppresses tumor growth, modulates the immune microenvironment, and demonstrates strong therapeutic synergy in both mouse model of subcutaneous tumor

A conceptual treadmill: the need for ‘middle ground’ in clinical decision making theory in nursing [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
This paper explores the two predominant theoretical approaches to the process of nurse decision making prevalent within the nursing research literature: systematic-positivistic approaches as exemplifed by information processing theory, and the intuitive ...

Erucic Acid, Derived by Lactobacillus Crispatus, Induces Ferroptosis in Cervical Cancer Organoids Through the PPAR‐δ Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Utilizing PDO, cell lines and cervical cancer xenograft (CDX) models, the study demonstrate both in vitro and in vivo that the metabolite of L. crispatus, erucic acid, can modulate the proliferation, migration and invasion of cervical cancer by activating the PPAR‐δ pathway.

Electrosensitive Heterogeneous Short Fibers via Acousto‐Electric Coupling for Sequential Bone Regeneration in Infectious Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electrosensitive heterogeneous short fibers can accurately respond to ultrasonic field regulation through the synergistic interaction of piezoelectric and conductive dual elements. At an ultrasound intensity of 1.5 W cm−2, it can effectively activate bacterial peroxisome and necrotic apoptotic pathway and promote bacterial apoptosis.
