Drop Nusselt numbers in dropwise condensation
Applied Scientific Research, 1974Most of the theoretical studies in dropwise condensation have based their analysis on the principle that the heat transfer rate limiting mechanism in dropwise condensation is the conduction of heat through drops. Based on this principle, Fatica and Katz presented shape factor values for droplets and these values have been used by other studies.

A study of Nusselt and Sherwood numbers in a monolith reactor
Catalysis Today, 1999Abstract A two-dimensional model of a single channel of a monolith reactor is used to evaluate the values of the Nusselt and Sherwood numbers under reaction conditions. The circular channel is assumed to have axisymmetry with a first-order reaction occurring at the wall.

Comparative Study of Nusselt Number Correlations for Hitec Molten Salt
2020 2nd Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES), 2020Molten salt has been realized as a potential candidate as a clean non-pollutant heat transfer fluid for concentrated solar power plants because of its high heat capacity and broad ranges of operational temperatures. In this study, the Nusselt number of the commercially known Hitec molten salt is numerically assessed, using k-e model turbulence model ...

Nusselt number for steady Poiseiulle flow through a pipe
Mechanics Research Communications, 1994Abstract The efficiency of the heat transfer mechanism for the fully developed steady Poiseiulle flow of a viscus incompressible fluid through a pipe of uniform but arbitrary cross section, when the wall of the pipe is maintained at a constant temperature, is measured by the average Nusselt number Nu .

Prandtl number dependence of Nusselt number in direct numerical simulations
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 2000The dependence of the Nusselt number Nu on the Rayleigh Ra and Prandtl Pr number is determined for 104 < Ra < 107 and 0.07 < Pr < 7 using DNS with no-slip upper and lower boundaries and free-slip sidewalls in a 8 × 8 × 2 box. Nusselt numbers, velocity scales and boundary layer thicknesses are calculated.

A New Correlation of Nusselt Number for Impinging Jets
Heat Transfer Engineering, 2009Jet impingement heat transfer has received a remarkable amount of attention by researchers throughout the world for many years due to widespread interest from both academic and industrial points of view. However, the fluid dynamics involved with arrays of jets are very complex and still not completely understood. Therefore, a functional relationship of

Static and dynamic measurements of the Nusselt number in turbulent convection
Physica Scripta, 2013Measurements of the dimensionless heat transfer rate, or Nusselt number Nu, are typically made by static measurements of the heat flux and the average resulting temperature difference across a horizontal layer of fluid under steady state conditions. Here, we describe a dynamic method that uses the properties of a heat wave generated by sinusoidally ...

Nußelt-Zahl Nu (Nusselt number Nu)
