Migratory testis, spermatogenesis and reproductive cycle of the neotropical broad-eared bat Nyctinomops laticaudatus (Molossidae)

Zoology, 2022
(Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) We describe for the first time the displacement mechanism of migratory testis in Nyctinomops laticaudatus, which is little known in bats, in addition to histological analysis of its gonads. Data on testis anatomy and activity were obtained from 20 males. Males had migratory testes as they are displaced

Nyctinomops laticaudatus bat-associated Rabies virus causes disease with a shorter clinical period and has lower pathogenic potential than strains isolated from wild canids

Archives of Virology, 2019
(Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) Rabies is a lethal viral disease that can affect a wide range of mammals. Currently, Rabies virus (RABV) in some European and American countries is maintained primarily in wild species. The regulation of viral replication is one of the critical mechanisms involved in RABV pathogenesis.

Territorial calls analysis in the broad tailed bat (Nyctinomops laticaudatus)

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2015
Some bat families perform vocalizations called “songs” to mate, conformed by three element types: chirps, trills, and buzzes. Also, those might be territorial warning calls; but its syntax remains to be understood. Our goal is to get information about mating calls’ patterns and its clarified function for a molossid bat species.
