Our study on the northern leaf blight fungus, Exserohilum turcicum, in Kenya and Uganda reveals distinct pathogen populations. We found low genetic diversity and limited gene flow, highlighting the need for region‐specific disease management strategies and the development of durable maize varieties for improved food security.
