The parent bodies of CR chondrites and their secondary history

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 58, Issue 8, Page 1117-1148, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Renazzo‐type (CR) chondrites are a relatively rare group of carbonaceous chondrites with the vast majority having escaped thermal alteration. This means that CRs are composed of relatively unprocessed material, depending on the extent of aqueous alteration they have experienced. Hydration in CRs ranges from incipient alteration of matrix glass,

Heat inactivated mycobacteria, alpha‐Gal and zebrafish: Insights gained from experiences with two promising trained immunity inductors and a validated animal model

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 167, Issue 2, Page 139-153, October 2022., 2022
BCG vaccine, a live and attenuated strain of Mycobacterium bovis, and fungal β‐glucans, derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae or Candida albicans, have been traditionally used in experimental studies aiming to induce non‐specific cross‐protection and to assess the mechanism involved in the trained immunity phenomenon.

Impact of renal impairment on atrial fibrillation: ESC‐EHRA EORP‐AF Long‐Term General Registry

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 52, Issue 6, June 2022., 2022
Abstract Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) and renal impairment share a bidirectional relationship with important pathophysiological interactions. We evaluated the impact of renal impairment in a contemporary cohort of patients with AF. Methods We utilised the ESC‐EHRA EORP‐AF Long‐Term General Registry.

A model comparison of fire return interval impacts on carbon and species dynamics in a southeastern U.S. pineland

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 12, Issue 11, November 2021., 2021
Abstract Ecosystem process models can be used to predict forest response to disturbances at a range of scales. Selection of the spatial class of model should depend on the scale of the research or management question, and model type should depend on the ecosystem attributes of interest. In some cases, multiple classes of models could be used to address

Distribution of Interplanetary Dust Detected by the Juno Spacecraft and Its Contribution to the Zodiacal Light

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 126, Issue 3, March 2021., 2021
Abstract The Solar System is home to a cloud of dust that orbits the Sun and makes its presence known by virtue of scattered light (Zodiacal Light) that can be seen after dusk and before dawn. Within this cloud are bands of dust orbiting near the ecliptic plane, evidenced by an excess of scattered light at discrete ecliptic latitudes.

Damaged Speleothems and Collapsed Karst Chambers Indicate Paleoseismicity of the NE Bohemian Massif (Niedźwiedzia Cave, Poland)

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2021., 2021
Abstract Multiphase speleothem damage and passage collapse in Niedźwiedzia Cave (NE Bohemian Massif, Poland) were dated with U‐series methods, revealing five events: (1) 320–306 ka, (2) 253–236 ka, (3) 162–158 ka, (4) 132–135 ka, and (5) >21 ka. Events 1, 3 and 4 are robustly constrained, and events 2 and 5 are less certain.
