Biodegradation of o-Cresol by a Pseudomonas spp
2015The o-cresol is one of the VOCs toxic compounds, it is used as pharmaceutical intermediates, reagents, custom synthesis and as a solvent, disinfectant and chemical intermediate for a wide variety of products including resins, paints and textiles. Efficient treatment technologies are required to reduce o-cresol concentration in wastewater to acceptable ...

Flip-flops in fluorinated o-cresol
Chemical Physics Letters, 2000Abstract Ab initio geometry optimizations are used to investigate the side chain fluorinated cis o-cresols, HOC6H4CH3−nFn (n=1, 2, and 3). The three ground states are found to contain hydrogen bonded hexagon, which may flip flop between two equivalent positions relative to the phenyl ring.

Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 2002
Abstract The microwave spectra of o -cresol and of o -cresol-OD were assigned using molecular beam Fourier transform microwave (MB-FTMW) spectrometers in the frequency range of 3–40 GHz. Two conformers of o -cresol were measured where the hydroxy group is syn with respect to the methyl group in one case and anti in the other.

Effects of Preozonation on Anaerobic Biodegradability of O‐Cresol
Journal of Environmental Engineering, 1989Ozone pretreatment studies of a refractory phenolic compound, o-cresol, were conducted to evaluate the effects of ozonation on the anaerobic biodegradability and toxicity of the reaction products. Two types of batch studies, the biochemical methane potential (BMP) and the anaerobic toxicity assay (ATA), were performed on samples with and without ...
