The rice transcription factor genes NAC20 and NAC26 regulate grain filling and show allele‐specific maternal expression due to transposable element insertions and paternal hypermethylation in their 5' upstream regions. Geographical analyses showed that japonica varieties that originated at high latitudes carried these transposable elements.

Of the two rice cultivar species, Oryza sativa and O. glaberrima, the former was predicted as a species with a higher potential in growth perenniality compared to the latter in a previous paper. In this paper we made a further study to confirm the specific difference in growth perenniality by comparing the growth characteristics, leaf photosynthesis ...

This review examines salt glands in exo‐recretohalophytes, in which epidermal stem cells differentiate into unicellular, bicellular, or multicellular salt glands. Salt ions are transported to the leaves via the transpiration stream and enter salt glands through symplastic and apoplastic pathways. Finally, salt glands actively secrete salt ions from the

The rice receptor‐like pseudokinase LENG enhances chilling tolerance by binding to and suppressing the kinase activity of OsCRPK1, thereby preventing OsCRPK1‐mediated phosphorylation of the cold‐tolerance positive regulator OsGF14d. ABSTRACT Cold damage during the seedling and reproductive stages has a pronounced impact on rice development and yield ...

Supplementation of Driver and Kuniyuki Walnut Medium with phloroglucinol enhanced regeneration efficiency in tomato tissue culture. Heterologous expression of an Arabidopsis growth‐regulating factor gene, GROWTH‐REGULATING FACTOR5 (GRF5), in tomato improved regeneration and transformation efficiency, suggesting a synergistic effect between ...
