An H-band Spectroscopic Metallicity Calibration for M Dwarfs

open access: yes, 2012
We present an empirical near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopic method for estimating M dwarf metallicities, based on features in the H-band, as well as an implementation of a similar published method in the K-band.

Cognitive Familiarity‐Driven Rumor Diffusion: A Dynamic Compartmental Model With Stratified Susceptibility

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Rumor propagation significantly impacts both individual well‐being and societal stability, with various factors influencing its spread. While existing research has primarily focused on the role of interpersonal familiarity in rumor diffusion, this study introduces a different perspective: an individual’s familiarity with the subject matter itself plays

Bond Length - Bond Valence Relationships for Carbon - Carbon and Carbon - Oxygen Bonds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In the present study, relationships are developed for determining bond orders (also referred to as bond valences or bond numbers) from published bond lengths for carbon-carbon (C-C) and carbon-oxygen (C-O) bonds.

Cobalt Catalyzed and UV Activated Peroxymonosulfate for Acetaminophen Degradation: Kinetics, Mechanism, and Toxicity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study compared photochemical degradation of acetaminophen (ACT) by UV/peroxymonosulfate (PMS) and UV/PMS/Co2+. The results indicated that photolytic removal of ACT (15 mg/L) by UV was not efficient, with only 6.33 % of ACT degraded in 60 min. Adding 1 mM PMS significantly improved the removal efficiency of ACT (85.67 % in 60 min). Further adding 0.

First Principles Calculations of Ionic Vibrational Frequencies in PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3

open access: yes, 2003
Lattice dynamics for several ordered supercells with composition PbMg1/3Nb2/3O (PMN) were calculated with first-principles frozen phonon methods. Nominal symmetries of the supercells studied are reduced by lattice instabilities.

Dual‐Function Piezo‐Photocatalytic Systems for Sustainable Hydrogen Evolution and Environmental Remediation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 46, December 11, 2025.
This article reviews dual‐function piezo‐photocatalytic systems that combine light and mechanical energy to produce hydrogen and clean the environment. It explains how various materials, including metal oxides, 2D structures, perovskites, and composites, enhance charge separation and reaction efficiency.

Neutrino masses and mixings in a Minimal S_3-invariant Extension of the Standard Model

open access: yes, 2006
The mass matrices of the charged leptons and neutrinos, that had been derived in the framework of a Minimal S_3-invariant Extension of the Standard Model, are here reparametrized in terms of their eigenvalues.
