Ground-state correlations in O16

Nuclear Physics, 1962
Abstract Admixtures to the simple shell-model ground-state wave function of a nucleus are produced by the residual interaction between nucleons. The effects of these admixtures on the properties of certain collective states have been studied previously.

The O16 (t, pγ)O18 reaction

Nuclear Physics, 1963
Abstract Differential cross-sections and proton-gamma-ray angular correlation functions in the reaction plane at six different proton angles, have been measured for the O 16 (t, pγ) O 18 reaction through the first excited state (1.98 MeV) of O 18 , using tritons of energy 5 MeV.

A new electric quadrupole transition in O16

Physics Letters, 1962
Strong enhancement of single-nucleon matrix elements for E2 transitions in nuclei neighboring O/sup 16/ result from the virtual excitation of a collective 2/sup +/ state in the O/sup 16/ core (S. Fallieros and R. A. Ferrell, Phys. Rev., 116: 660 (1959)).

Interaction of deuterons with O16 and Ni58

Nuclear Physics, 1962
Abstract Absolute cross-sections for the reactions O16(d,d)O16 ground state, O16(d,p)O17 ground and 0.872 MeV states at 26.3 MeV dueteron energy and for the reactions Ni58(d,d) Ni58 ground state, Ni58(d,d')Ni591.45 MeV state and Ni58(d,p) ground state at 27.5 MeV bombarding energy were measured by using the scintillation technique with a resolution ...

Rotational spectra of nuclei following O16

Nuclear Physics, 1957
Abstract The possibility of the application of the strong coupling collective model (rotational model) to nuclei in the region following O16 (s-d shells) is discussed. A calculation shows that nuclei with big deformations may be expected in the considered region.
