Research on the Impact of Financial Development and Human Capital on the Sustainable Development Goals in Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs): Evidence from Econometric Approaches

open access: yesReview of Economic Perspectives
In this paper, cointegration and causality relationship among human development (HDI), financial development (FDI) and sustainable development (ESG) for five CEECs are investigated.

Development of a Robust Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transform Spectroscopy (DRIFTS) Cell for Elucidating Reaction Mechanisms in Nonthermal Plasma Catalysis

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 9, Issue 12, December 1, 2025.
A dome‐type operando DRIFTS cell is developed to enable stable, uniform glow discharges that mimic dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactors. In plasma‐catalytic CO2 methanation, this design allows real‐time mechanistic tracking of surface reactions under gas switching conditions, revealing reaction pathways.

Imprints of the super-Eddington accretion on the quasar clustering

open access: yes, 2017
Super-Eddington mass accretion has been suggested as an efficient mechanism to grow supermassive black holes (SMBHs). We investigate the imprint left by the radiative efficiency of the super-Eddington accretion process on the clustering of quasars using ...

Thermal prestressing of subsequently slotted reinforcement—Experimental and numerical development and optimization of an induction method

open access: yesStructural Concrete, Volume 26, Issue 6, Page 9007-9022, December 2025.
Abstract Many infrastructure buildings show deficits in their load‐bearing capacity and need to be strengthened in the short or medium term. However, the available methods are usually not effective for the self‐weight without temporary raising or prestressing the structure.

String compactification, QCD axion and axion-photon-photon coupling

open access: yes, 2007
It is pointed out that there exist a few problems to be overcome toward an observable sub-eV QCD axion in superstring compactification. We give a general expression for the axion decay constant.

Modeling locally corroded reinforced concrete structures in non‐linear finite element analyses

open access: yesStructural Concrete, Volume 26, Issue 6, Page 9121-9142, December 2025.
Abstract The ingress of chlorides, originating from the use of de‐icing salts or proximity to the sea, may cause severe local reinforcement corrosion in concrete structures such as bridges, tunnels, galleries, and retaining walls. Methods are urgently required to realistically assess the load‐bearing capacity of such deteriorated structures, accounting

First Principles Calculations of Ionic Vibrational Frequencies in PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3

open access: yes, 2003
Lattice dynamics for several ordered supercells with composition PbMg1/3Nb2/3O (PMN) were calculated with first-principles frozen phonon methods. Nominal symmetries of the supercells studied are reduced by lattice instabilities.

From Responsibility to Resilience: The Role of Corporate Social Responsibility Committees in the Stability of MENA Banks

open access: yesBusiness Systems Research
Bank stability is fundamental for sustaining economic growth, fostering investment, and maintaining confidence in the financial system. In recent years, the rise of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the creation of CSR committees (CSRCs) have ...
