Observation of Edge‐Confined Acoustic Hyperbolic Polaritons in van der Waals Materials

Advanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
This work demonstrates a new type of light wave—edge‐confined acoustic hyperbolic polaritons—in hexagonal boron nitride on gold. These waves travel along crystal edges with nanoscale confinement and strongly interact with molecular vibrations, enabling highly sensitive detection of tiny molecular layers.

Magnetic coupling in Co Cr2 O4 and Mn Cr2 O4: An LSDA+U study

PUBLISHED We present a first principles LSDA+U study of the magnetic coupling constants in the spinel magnets CoCr2O4 and MnCr2O4. Our calculated coupling constants highlight the possible importance of AA interactions in spinel systems with magnetic ions on both A and B sites.

Neutron Crystallography Study of Host–Pathogen Recognition Enhanced by Hydrogen/Deuterium Exchange on Carbohydrates

Neutron macromolecular crystallography enabled by deuteration of biomolecules reveals how the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa utilizes calcium‐dependent lectin for binding to human sugars. Neutron diffraction on the complex highlights hydrogen bond network, protonation of amino acids and role of calcium ion.
