O44 Nutritional protection against obesity
Biochemical Pharmacology, 2017Obesity is a pressing public health problem caused by an interaction of several factors including genetic susceptibility and lifestyle changes (e.g. consumption of energy-dense, high fat/sugar foods and, possibly, increases in sedentary behaviour). Public health messages have had limited success in combating obesity.

Isolates Of Escherichia coli O44:H18 Of Diverse Origin Are Enteroaggregative
Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1994One hundred thirteen strains of Escherichia coli O44:H18 isolated in several countries over 25 years were examined for adhesion to tissue culture cells and for hybridization with DNA probes. Fifty-nine strains were from sporadic cases of infection; 54 were from 12 outbreaks.

Structural Elucidation of the O‐Antigenic Polysaccharide from Escherichia coli O44: H18
European Journal of Biochemistry, 1995The O‐antigen polysaccharide of the lipopolysaccharide from the enteroaggregative Escherichia coli O44:H18 has been investigated. Sugar and methylation analysis, 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR spectroscopy revealed that the polysaccharide is composed of pentasaccharide repeating units.

[O44--a solvent for silicone oil adhesions on intraocular lenses].
Klinische Monatsblatter fur Augenheilkunde, 1999To examine the efficiency of O44, a partial fluorinated octane, as a solvent for silicone oil adhesions on intraocular lenses. After placing silicone- and PMMA-lenses in silicone oil, the adhesions were treated with O44. The extent of silicone oil adhesions and the effectiveness of O44 were studied by gross microscopy by scanning electrone microscopy ...
