Characterization and synthetic application of a novel β1,3-galactosyltransferase from Escherichia coli O55:H7

Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry, 2009
A beta1,3-galactosyltransferase (WbgO) was identified in Escherichia coli O55:H7. Its function was confirmed by radioactive activity assay and structure analysis of the disaccharide synthesized with the recombinant enzyme. WbgO requires a divalent metal ion, either Mn(2+) or Mg(2+), for its activity and is active between pH 6.0-8.0 with a pH optimum of

O55 ETHNIC DISPARITY IN HYPERTENSION AMONG LIVING KIDNEY DONORS

Journal of Hypertension
Background and Objective: Whether the disparity among different ethnicities in living kidney donors (LKD) exists is unknown. We aim to examine the association between ethnicity and the risk of developing hypertension in LKD.

O55. Feasibility of tissue differentiation with multi-energy computed tomography: A Monte Carlo study

Physica Medica, 2016
Introduction Over the past decade computed tomography of the breast has been developed by several research groups in the USA and in the European Union to overcome the limitations of overlapping tissue in mammography. Fibroglandular tissue has a much higher attenuation coefficient than fatty tissue at all energies but carcinomas have a slightly higher ...

Escherichia coli strain O55 contains two cryptic plasmids that depend on each other to replicate

Archives of Microbiology
Plasmids are fundamental to molecular biology and biotechnology, playing a crucial role in bacterial evolution. Some plasmids are linked to complex cellular dynamics, including pathogenicity islands, antibiotic resistance, and gene mobilization. This study reports the isolation and sequencing of two cryptic plasmids with different electrophoretic ...
