An Oracle Bone Inscriptions Detection Algorithm Based on Improved YOLOv8
Ancient Chinese characters known as oracle bone inscriptions (OBIs) were inscribed on turtle shells and animal bones, and they boast a rich history dating back over 3600 years. The detection of OBIs is one of the most basic tasks in OBI research.

Abstract Background Female sex is an independent fall risk factor in Parkinson's disease (PD), yet sex‐specific fall patterns remain unclear. Objectives To compare sex‐specific fall risk and outcomes across PD, prodromal alpha‐synucleinopathy (PAS), and healthy controls (HC); estimate fall frequency across PD progression; and assess how sex modifies ...

Characteristic of HBV nucleic acid amplification testing yields from blood donors in China
Background Nucleic acid amplification testing (NAT) for blood screening has been previously performed in some countries to determine NAT yields. The current study sought to explore the non-discriminating reactive NAT yields using individual-NAT (ID-NAT ...

Improving data availability with “OBIS-ENV-DATA”: Examples from OBIS-USA [PDF]
During biological sampling events, measurements are routinely collected about the event as well as about the biological observations. For example, the same sampling event might collect event measurements like water temperature and salinity as well as biological measurements like abundance and weight.

ABSTRACT ‘Hard’ natural sciences have extensively been used to provide evidence that climate change is happening and climate action is needed. If the contribution of our economic activities to disturbing our climate systems is now largely accepted, the way in which we design and operationalise ‘climate action’—how we transition to more sustainable ...
