Geo-Information Technologies of Object Based Image Analysis (OBIA) for Urban Mapping [PDF]
Current work is aimed at the deriving of information from the remote sensed VHR data using a priori knowledge in the Object Based Image Analysis (OBIA) approach. OBIA technology is new and effective tool for urban mapping, as it enables dealing with raster images for detailed and precise cartography.

An object-based image analysis in QGIS for image classification and assessment of coastal spatial planning [PDF]
In practice, urban and regional planners often use a pixel-based method for image classification. Unfortunately, it produces lower accuracy than an Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) method, especially for the high-resolution images.

Mine void identification using Object-based Image Analysis (OBIA) of satellite imagery Sentinel 2 data [PDF]
Open pit mining is an extensively-used method in Indonesian coal mining. This method is characterized by the formation of mine void at the end of life-of-mine (LOM) due to insufficient material to backfill the mine-out areas. Mine voids are legally accepted as one of mine closure options and categorized as “Reklamasi Bentuk Lain” -

High-resolution spatial images are the main data source in photo-interpretation projects that produce official land cover and vegetation maps. High resolution aerial imagery – highly useful in visual analysis- is excessive for pixel-based analysis, when our goal is the differentiation of objects defined by limits.
