JAVOBS: A Flexible Simulator for OBS Network Architectures

J. Networks, 2010
Since the OBS paradigm has become a potential candidate to cope with the needs of the future all optical networks, it has really caught the attention from both academia and industry worldwide.

Interactions of Doxazosin with Insulin or Glucagon in the ob/ob Mouse

Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology, 1989
Doxazosin, a selective inhibitor of alpha 1-adrenergic receptors, when administered alone or in combination with insulin or glucagon to mature ob/ob mice, consistently lowered levels of triglycerides, cholesterol, glycerol, and lactate and increased levels of beta-hydroxybutyrate and glucose.

Shallow-Water Broadband OBS Seismology

, 2010
The recent development of broadband ocean-bottom seismometers that can be deployed for more than a year has led to the construction of large ocean-bottom seismometer (OBS) fleets and to many successful experiments studying Earth structure and tectonics ...

Partial characterization of porcine obesity gene (OBS) and its localization to chromosome 18 by somatic cell hybrids.

Animal Genetics, 2009
Degenerate primers based on human and mouse obesity gene (OBS) sequencing data were used in the reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) of total RNA from pig white adipose tissue.

On Teletraffic Applications to OBS

IEEE Communications Letters, 2004
We provide teletraffic models for loss probability evaluation of optical burst switching (OBS). We show that the popular Engset formula is not exact for OBS modeling and demonstrate that in certain cases it is not appropriate. A new exact model is provided.

Wide-area imaging from OBS multiples

, 2009
The subseafloor structure offshore western Canada was imaged using first-order water-layer multiples from oceanbottom seismometer OBS data and the results were compared to conventional imaging using primary reflections.

The Correction of Shot and OBS Position in the 3D Seismic Experiment of the SW Indian Ocean Ridge

, 2010
In a three-dimensional (3-D) seismic experiment carried out at sea, due to the distance between GPS antenna on ship and the center of air gun sources in sea water, and some environmental factors such as wind and sea current, the survey ship would adjust ...

The meal pattern of genetically obese (ob/ob) mice

Appetite, 1987
The purpose of this investigation was to determine the meal pattern that characterizes the increased food intake of the ob/ob mouse. The major result was that obese mice ate larger and less frequent meals than lean mice during the dark phase of the light-dark cycle. There was a sex difference in that obese females ate the largest meals.

Glucocerebroside Ameliorates the Metabolic Syndrome in OB/OB Mice

The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, 2006
Glucocerebroside (GC) is a naturally occurring glycolipid that may alter natural killer T (NKT) cell function. To determine the effect of GC on the metabolic derangements and immune profile in leptin-deficient mice, Ob/Ob mice were treated by daily injections of GC for 8 weeks and followed for various metabolic and immunological parameters.

Thyroid Hormone Responses to Feeding in ob/ob Mice

Hormone and Metabolic Research, 1989
Many of the disturbances which characterize adult C57BL/6 ob/ob mice, including obesity, hypometabolism and hypothermia could arise from reduced circulating levels of thyrotropin and thyroid hormones. In the present study, measurement of these hormones in ad libitum-fed obese and lean mice housed at 22 degrees C revealed that mutant mice had levels of ...
