Inequalities for complementarity in observed statistics [PDF]
We provide an analysis of complementarity via a suitably designed classicalmodel that leads to a set of inequalities that can be tested by means ofunsharp measurements. We show that, if the measured statistics does notfulfill the inequalities it is equivalent to the lack of a joint distribution for theincompatible observables.

Controllability of a Family of Nonlinear Population Dynamics Models
Considering a nonlinear dynamical system, we study the nonlinear infinite-dimensional system obtained by grafting an operator A and an age structure. This system is such that the nonlinearity is at the level of births.

On the observability inequality of coupled wave equations: the case without boundary [PDF]
In this paper, we study the observability and controllability of wave equations coupled by first or zero order terms on a compact manifold. We adopt the approach in Dehman-Lebeau’s paper [B. Dehman and G. Lebeau, SIAM J. Control Optim. 48 (2009) 521–550.]

Null controllability of a coupled model in population dynamics [PDF]
We are concerned with the null controllability of a linear coupled population dynamics system or the so-called prey-predator model with Holling type I functional response of predator wherein both equations are structured in age and space.

Observable set, observability, interpolation inequality and spectral inequality for the heat equation in Rn [PDF]
This paper studies connections among observable sets, the observability inequality, the H\"{o}lder-type interpolation inequality and the spectral inequality for the heat equation in $\mathbb R^n$.

Analyticity and observability for fractional order parabolic equations in the whole space
In this paper, we study the quantitative analyticity and observability inequality for solutions of fractional order parabolic equations with space-time dependent potentials in R^n.

Weak damping for the Korteweg-de Vries equation
For more than 20 years, the Korteweg–de Vries equation has been intensively explored from the mathematical point of view. Regarding control theory, when adding an internal force term in this equation, it is well known that the Korteweg–de Vries equation ...

Observability and uniqueness theorem for a coupled hyperbolic system
We deal with the inverse inequality for a coupled hyperbolic system with dissipation. The inverse inequality is an indispensable inequality that appears in the Hilbert Uniqueness Method (HUM), to establish equivalence of norms which guarantees uniqueness

Observed inequality in urban greenspace exposure in China
Given the important role of green environments playing in healthy cities, the inequality in urban greenspace exposure has aroused growing attentions. However, few comparative studies are available to quantify this phenomenon for cities with different population sizes across a country, especially for those in the developing world. Besides, commonly used

Characterization by observability inequalities of controllability and stabilization properties [PDF]
Given a linear control system in a Hilbert space with a bounded control operator, we establish a characterization of exponential stabilizability in terms of an observability inequality.
