Cosmological observatories

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity
Abstract We study the static patch of de Sitter space in the presence of a timelike boundary. We impose that the conformal class of the induced metric and the trace of the extrinsic curvature, K, are fixed at the boundary. We present the thermodynamic structure of de Sitter space subject to these boundary conditions, for static and ...

JWST Imaging of the Closest Globular Clusters—VI. The Lowest‐Mass Objects in M 4 and the Galactic Bulge

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present James Webb Space Telescope observations of M 4—the closest globular cluster—that probe the lower Main Sequence down to the hydrogen‐burning limit. The unveiled stellar sequence reaches much fainter luminosities than previously possible, revealing a few extremely red objects that are consistent with brown dwarfs as cool as Teff∼1000K$

The Odin orbital observatory [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2003
Odin is a satellite with a combined astronomy and aeronomy mission. It is designed for observations of species dicult or impossible to observe from ground, especially water and oxygen. The main instrument is a radiometer, operating in the frequency range 486-581 GHz and at 118.75 GHz. Its double-reflector telescope has a 1.1 m primary and the front-end
