The second descent obstruction and gerbes [PDF]
We extend the notion of rational points and cohomological obstructions on varieties to categories fibred in groupoids. We also establish the generalized theory of descent by torsors. Then we interpret the obstruction given by the second cohomology of abelian sheaves in terms of categorical points of gerbes, analogue to descent by torsors.

Abdominal fat necrosis in three Vietnamese Potbellied pigs
Abstract Three cases of abdominal fat necrosis in Vietnamese Potbellied pigs are described in this report. Two pigs were presented for nonspecific clinical signs of varying durations, including lethargy and hyporexia, and one pig was presented for euthanasia due to severe, progressive lameness in which abdominal fat necrosis was found incidentally.

The Brauer-Manin obstruction for stacky curves [PDF]
We show that the Brauer-Manin obstruction is the only obstruction to strong approximation for all stacky curves over global fields with finite abelian fundamental groups. This includes all stacky curves of genus $g = \frac{1}{2}$, thus explaining a recent counterexample to the Hasse principle of Bhargava-Poonen.

The cat presented with severe constipation, urinary retention and a caudal abdominal/cranial intrapelvic mass identified on diagnostic imaging.

Safety and Early Clinical Outcomes Following Repair of Very Large Hiatus Hernia in Octogenarians
Very large hiatus hernias are often symptomatic, impact quality of life, and are increasingly encountered in aging populations. Laparoscopic repair offers excellent clinical outcomes. However, surgeons can be reluctant to offer surgery to the elderly due to concerns about morbidity and mortality.
