Application of 3D printing in the surgical planning of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy and physician-patient communication: a preliminary study.

open access: yesJournal of Thoracic Disease, 2018
Background The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of 3-dimensional (3D) printing in treatment of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) and its roles in doctor-patient communication.

The Immune Microenvironment: New Therapeutic Implications in Organ Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent advances in understanding the immune microenvironment's role in fibrosis, focusing on phenotypic/functional alterations of immune cells and their dynamic interactions with other cellular constituents within tissues. The authors further explore therapeutic opportunities and challenges in targeting immune microenvironment ...

Neonatal hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with dyspnoea as the first symptom: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2023
Neonatal hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is an idiopathic disease characterised by myocardial hypertrophy with normal or small ventricular chambers, a systolic hyperdynamic state and diastolic dysfunction.

THE DOUBLY OBSTRUCTIVE HYPERTROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2014
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) often results in mid-systolic left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction secondary to basal septal hypertrophy and systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve. However, other etiologies of LVOT obstruction such as subaortic stenosis may also coexist.

PRMT3‐Mediated H4R3me2a Promotes Primary Age‐Related Tauopathy by Driving Tau Hyperphosphorylation in Neuron

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies PRMT3‐mediated H4R3me2a as a critical driver of tau hyperphosphorylation in primary age‐related tauopathy. Mechanistic insights reveal that the PRMT3/H4R3me2a/miR‐448 axis suppresses IGF1R expression via epigenetic regulation, further dysregulating the PI3K/AKT/GSK3β pathway.

MicroRNA-221 is a potential biomarker of myocardial hypertrophy and fibrosis in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy

open access: yesBioscience Reports, 2019
Aim: Circulating microRNA expression has become a biomarker of cardiovascular disease; however, the association of microRNA expression between circulation and myocardium in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy remains unclear.

Rapamycin Alleviates Heart Failure Caused by Mitochondrial Dysfunction and SERCA Hypoactivity in Syntaxin 12/13 Deficient Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rapamycin alleviates heart failure via TFEB and CaMKII pathways in Syntaxin 12/13 deficient models. Stx12 deficiency causes heart failure via impaired iron trafficking to mitochondria, reducing respiratory complexes and sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+‐ATPase (SERCA).

Mid-Left Ventricular Ballooning Variant Takotsubo Syndrome Induced by Treadmill Exercise Stress Testing

open access: yesCase Reports in Cardiology, 2018
Stress-induced cardiomyopathy, also known as takotsubo cardiomyopathy, presents similar to a myocardial infarction after a physical or emotional stressor but without any evidence of obstructive coronary artery disease.

Proteomic Analysis of the Myocardium in Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy

open access: yesCirculation Genomic and Precision Medicine, 2018
Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is characterized by a complex phenotype that is only partly explained by the biological effects of individual genetic variants.
