All-Sky Earth Occultation Observations with the Fermi Gamma Ray Burst Monitor [PDF]
Using the Gamma Ray Burst Monitor (GBM) on-board Fermi, we are monitoring the hard X-ray/soft gamma ray sky using the Earth occultation technique. Each time a source in our catalog enters or exits occultation by the Earth, we measure its flux using the change in count rates due to the occultation.

A digital video system for observing and recording occultations [PDF]
Stellar occultations by asteroids and outer solar system bodies can offer ground based observers with modest telescopes and camera equipment the opportunity to probe the shape, size, atmosphere and attendant moons or rings of these distant objects. The essential requirements of the camera and recording equipment are: good quantum efficiency and low ...

Abstract Purpose This study compares the dosimetric accuracy of deep‐learning‐based MR synthetic CT (sCT) in brain radiotherapy between the Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm (AAA) and AcurosXB (AXB). Additionally, it proposes a novel metric to predict the dosimetric accuracy of sCT for individual post‐surgical brain cases.

Abstract Skin flash is typically added to breast and chestwall plans to ensure robust target coverage in the presence of respiratory motion, anatomic changes, and small setup uncertainties. Adding skin flash in volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) plans is an iterative and manual process.

Data analysis of 2005 Regulus occultation and simulation of the 2014 occultation [PDF]
On March 20, 2014 at 6:06 UT (2:06 New York time) Regulus, the 1.3 magnitude brighter star of Leo constellation, is going to be occulted by the asteroid 163 Erigone. The unusual event, visible to the naked eye over NYC, can allow to measure the shape of the asteroid, with reaching a space resolution below the diffraction limit of the eye, and of all ...

A method of surveying which uses data obtained from photoelectrically observed occultations is described. The method is applicable in those cases where it is desired to connect triangulation systems which are too widely separated to be tied together by the usual means. The discussion includes the prediction and reduction of occultations.

Abstract Purpose/objectives Recent technological advancements have increased efficiency for clinical deliverability of online‐adaptive‐radiotherapy (oART). Previous cone‐beam‐computed‐tomography (CBCT) generations lacked the ability to provide reliable Hounsfield‐units (HU), thus requiring oART workflows to rely on synthetic‐CT (sCT) images derived ...

Abstract Purpose Single‐isocenter multitarget (SIMT) radiosurgery has become increasingly popular as advancement in planning and delivery systems have made this approach clinically viable. With targets varying in size and distance from isocenter, SIMT plans are highly complex with dynamic multileaf collimator (MLC) motion.
