Ototoxic Effects of Occupational Exposure to Styrene and Co-Exposure to Styrene and Noise
Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, 2003Ototoxicity of styrene and the synergistic action of styrene and noise have been shown in rats. The respective data in humans are scarce and equivocal. This study evaluated the effects of occupational exposure to styrene and combined exposures to styrene and noise on hearing. The study group, comprised of 290-yacht yard and plastic factory workers, was

Safe lifetime occupational exposure-1 LONE (lifetime occupational noise exposure).
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2010For many years, it has been recognized by those working in the field of industrial noise that understanding how much noise is needed to cause hearing loss over a lifetime is difficult to communicate to most people, even those who have an understanding of logarithms.

Occupational exposure to noise and the cardiovascular system: A meta-analysis
Science of The Total Environment, 2010The aim of our meta-analysis is to evaluate the association between the modifications of the cardiovascular system and chronic exposure to noise in occupationally exposed subjects. We considered the articles published from 1950 to May 2008. Only 15 papers were conforming to the inclusion criteria identified for this meta-analysis.

An Assessment of Occupational Noise Exposures in Four Construction Trades
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1999Three hundred thirty-eight noise exposure samples were collected from 133 construction workers employed in 4 construction trades: carpenters, laborers, ironworkers, and operating engineers. Four sites using a variety of construction techniques were sampled at least 12 times on a randomly chosen date over a 22-week period.

[Non-occupational exposure to noise].
Giornale italiano di medicina del lavoro ed ergonomia, 2004The authors report the data related to the measures effected in some environments where leisure time activities are developed. In the light of the elevated values, the authors have effected the calculation of the Lep,d as laid down by D.Lgs 277/91 to verify the existence of conditions of risk that result verified.
