World Ocean Circulation Experiment [PDF]
The oceans are an equal partner with the atmosphere in the global climate system. The World Ocean Circulation Experiment is presently being implemented to improve ocean models that are useful for climate prediction both by encouraging more model ...

Coupling the PLANKTOM5.0 marine ecosystem model to the OCCAM 1º ocean general circulation model for investigation of the sensitivity of global biogeochemical cycles to variations in ecosystem complexity and physical environment [PDF]
The earliest marine ecosystem models consisted of a simple representation of the main features of marine ecosystems, including, typically, variables for phytoplankton, zooplankton, nutrient and detritus (NPZD models).

Spatiotemporal Changes in Precipitation Concentration in the Atlantic‐European Region
This study analyses changes in precipitation concentration using ERA5 and E‐OBS datasets. Gini index as a measure of precipitation concentration revealed a gradual expansion of areas with increasing unevenness in precipitation distribution across the Atlantic‐European region since 1961.

Barrier Layer Variability in the Central Equatorial Pacific Associated With ENSO Development
Previous studies suggest that a thick barrier layer can strengthen surface warming during El Niño and vice versa for La Niña. Here we find barrier layer changes of up to 6 m in the central equatorial Pacific (CEP, 170°E−160°W, 5°S–5°N) in response to a 1°

Sunshine Duration in Brazil From Meteosat (1983–2020): Climatology, Variability and Long‐Term Trends
Using nearly four decades of Meteosat satellite data (1983–2020), this study presents a country‐wide climatology of sunshine duration (SDU) in Brazil. The results reveal marked regional contrasts, dominant modes of variability, and significant long‐term trends, providing new information on the most relevant meteorological systems that influence SDU and

Effects of Dipole Eddies on Acoustic Propagation in the Northeastern South China Sea
Mesoscale eddies can greatly influence underwater acoustic propagation, which holds substantial academic and practical importance. The impacts of individual cyclonic eddies (CEs) or anticyclonic eddies (AEs) on acoustic propagation have been reported in ...

Projected Annual and Monsoonal Precipitation Trends of CMIP6 Over Peninsular Malaysia
In this study, we examined historical and projected precipitation temporal trends across Peninsular Malaysia using ground‐based records and CMIP6 models from NEX‐GDDP. Analysing data from 518 reliable gauges over 1973–2022, it identified spatial and monsoonal variations.
