Ocean heat uptake structure shapes future surface temperature change

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Communications
Earth’s energy imbalance (EEI) is closely linked to global surface temperature changes over multidecadal timescales, yet this relationship weakens on shorter scales due to internal climate variability and ocean heat uptake.

Degradation Pathways of Silicon‐Based Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon‐based anodes undergo degradation through five primary pathways: (1) mechanical and structural deterioration of the active material, (2) loss of electrode integrity and electrical contact, (3) mechanical instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), characterized by repetitive fracture and deformation, (4) chemical instability of the ...

Alcohol‐Adduct Mediated Precursor Stabilization Strategies for Conformal SnO2 Layers in Highly Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Modules

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
An alcohol‐adduct‐mediated strategy is employed to stabilize tin isopropoxide for the formation of a homogeneous double electron transport layer (ETL) incorporating SnO2 nanoparticles (NPs). This double‐ETL exhibits improved optical and charge‐transport properties due to reduced defect density and better energy level alignment, resulting in high ...

Evaluation of the Regulation and Response of Ocean Heat Content to Typhoons in the Northwest Pacific Based on GDCSM_Argo

open access: yes
The Northwest Pacific is a source of strong typhoons accompanied by significantly changing ocean heat content (OHC). Based on the GDCSM_Argo dataset, all typhoons within twenty years are considered to explore the regulation of OHC between 0 and 2000 m ...

On potential causes for an under-estimated global ocean heat content trend in CMIP3 models

open access: yes, 2010
[1] Trends in global oceanic heat content (OHC) over the late 20th century as simulated by climate models that incorporate all radiative forcing factors are smaller than the observed, but the causes are not clear. Given the cooling effect associated with

A Compact Hollow Fiber Electrode Assembly Architecture for Continuous Electrochemical Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A coaxial, membrane‐integrated hollow fiber electrode assembly (HFEA) is developed for continuous marine carbon mineralization. By utilizing a sub‐millimeter inter‐electrode gap, the HFEA minimizes Ohmic losses, achieving 50% energy reduction and over 85% DIC removal.
