Recent advances in metasurface‐enabled low‐observable technologies are reviewed from the perspective of cross‐scale material–structure synergy. Electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and acoustic stealth are highlighted together with dynamic tuning, programmable coding, data‐driven inverse design, artificial intelligence, multispectral compatibility, and ...

Asymmetries in the Southern Ocean contribution to global heat and carbon uptake [PDF]
The Southern Ocean provides dominant contributions to global ocean heat and carbon uptake, which is widely interpreted as resulting from its unique upwelling and circulation.

ON THE PAUSED WARMING CONTROVERSY BASED ON IPCC AR5 AND BEYOND [PDF]
The paused warming since ca. 2002 (maybe, 1998) is not satisfactorily reflected by the IPCC WGI (2013) Report. The aim of the present study is to collect, present and discuss the key arguments of the issue, selected strictly from this valuable Report ...

Inspired by the sophisticated multilayer retinal architecture found in Pacific salmon eyes, a novel van der Waals heterojunction sensor based on NbNiTe5/BP is designed. Upon illumination at distinct wavelengths of 365 and 820 nm, the device exhibits distinctive bipolar photocurrent responses with opposite polarities. This unique optoelectronic behavior

Southern ocean circulation [PDF]
The Discovery Investigations of the 1930s provided a compelling description of the main elements of the Southern Ocean circulation. Over the intervening years, this has been extended to include ideas on ocean dynamics based on physical principles. In the

Response of the ocean natural carbon storage to projected twenty-first-century climate change [PDF]
The separate impacts of wind stress, buoyancy fluxes, and CO2 solubility on the oceanic storage of natural carbon are assessed in an ensemble of twentieth- to twenty-first-century simulations, using a coupled atmosphere–ocean–carbon cycle model.

Modular zinc finger (ZF) metalloproteins function as programmable biomolecular scaffolds that modulate pathogenic amyloid assembly. Through direct protein–protein interactions, ZF arrays alter amyloid phase behavior and redirect β‐sheet fibrillization toward nontoxic aggregates.

Abstract Global warming induces ocean circulation changes that not only can redistribute ocean reservoir temperature stratification but also change the total heat content anomaly of the ocean. Here all consequences of this process are referred to collectively as “redistribution.” Previous model studies of redistributive effects could not

Performance and Environmental Impact of Flexible Temperature Sensors on Cellulose‐Based Substrate
Toward low‐environmental‐impact approach to thin‐film sensors fabrication using natural ingredient‐based triacetyl cellulose (TAC) substrate. Temperature sensors are fabricated and characterized based on thermal and mechanical performance. Substrate recovery is demonstrated by facile dissolution of a Mo‐based sensor in deionized water.

On the role of the Southern Ocean in the global carbon cycle and atmospheric CO2 change
Uncertainty about the causes of glacial-interglacial CO2 variations demonstrates our incomplete grasp of fundamental processes that govern our climate and thus one of the foremost problems in palaeoceanography and Earth System Science regards the ...
