Satellite altimetry and operational oceanography: from Jason-1 to SWOT [PDF]
The development and evolution of satellite altimetry and operational oceanography are very closely linked. By providing all weather, global, and real-time observations of sea level, a key variable to constrain ocean analysis and forecasting systems ...

Monitoring ocean heat content from the current generation of global ocean observing systems
International audienceVariations in the world's ocean heat storage and its associated volume changes are a key factor to gauge global warming and to assess the Earth's energy budget. It is also directly link to sea level change, which has a direct impact

Bismuth nanosheets integrated with nitrogen‐doped carbon nanoleaves are constructed via a 2D‐on‐2D heterointerface engineering strategy. The resulting BiNS/NCL electrode delivers high chloride adsorption capacity, fast kinetics, and stable cyclability. A built‐in electric field at the heterointerface promotes chloride electrosorption and stabilizes the

XBT Effects on the Global Ocean State Estimates Using a Coupled Data Assimilation System
The early 21st century experienced a transition in global ocean observing systems from the expendable bathythermograph (XBT) to the Argo. There has been a decrease in XBT observations, and a significant increase in Argo profiling floats in the global ...

Silicon hot‐carrier photodetectors offer a CMOS‐compatible pathway for SWIR detection but suffer from intrinsically low quantum efficiency. Here, we introduce a quasi‐generalized antireflection coating (QARC) that universally enhances optical absorption and quantum efficiency, enabling the first CMOS‐compatible SWIR imaging with silicon hot‐carrier ...

Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.
