Wet‐Chemical Etching of Silicon Wafer Surfaces Using Aqueous HF‐HBrO3 and HF‐HBrO3‐Br2 Solutions
Aqueous mixtures of HF and HBrO3 are reported as a new NOx‐free etching systems for monocrystalline silicon wafers. Silicon is polished with etching rates up to 10 µm min−1 at room temperature. The addition of Br2 leads to anisotropic etching, thus texturing monocrystalline silicon wafer surfaces with upright pyramids.

A Microfluidic Multiplex Sorter for Strain Development
A new multiplex method for high‐throughput screening of yeast strains based on glucoamylase production is presented. Droplets containing single mutant yeast cells are incubated for enzyme production. A sorting platform divides mutants by their high‐ and mid‐activity levels.

Photonic Crystal Enhanced Microscopy on a 2D Photonic Crystal Surface

Two-sided asymmetric subduction; implications for tectonomagmatic and metallogenic evolution of the Lut Block, Eastern Iran [PDF]
West directed subduction zones show common characteristics, such as low structural elevation, deep trench, steep slab and a conjugate back-arc basin that are opposite to those of the east directed subduction zones.

The patch mimics the dual physicochemical adhesion mechanisms of gecko toe micropillars and spider silk proteins, enabling strong interfacial bonding via partially cured micropillars. Its facile fabrication allows customization for precision medicine, while its motion responsiveness offers potential for real‐time wound monitoring.
