Ion‐Electron Fusion Transparent Film for Interactive Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ion‐electron fusion transparent film with stable conductivity, high optical transmittance, and a broad linear strain‐sensing range of up to 300% is developed, attributed to the synergistic effects of ion penetration and microcrack design. When applied to soft robots, this film imparts proprioceptive sensing and underwater visible light communication

All‐Optical Logic Gates and Programmable Photonic Organo‐Polymer Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Four PDMS‐based photonic devices imitating the shapes of Y‐structure, hexagonal mesh, dual in‐phase quadrature, and cascaded MZI array are demonstrated and shown to function as all‐optical OR gates. Furthermore, a PDMS hexagonal mesh, containing dye‐doped regions, is shown to enable performance as a programmable photonic device, where its ...

“Understanding and Overcoming the Poor Efficiency of QLEDs Utilizing Organic Electron Transport Layers”

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Contrary to expectations, the electron is identified as a leakage that plays a leading role in limiting the efficiency of QLEDs with organic ETLs. By using a multilayer ETL configuration that includes electron blocking interfaces, electron leakage can be reduced and EQE substantially increased, reaching 10%, the highest for a green QLED with an ...

Rethinking Sustainable Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective examines sustainability across the entire battery lifecycle, from mining and manufacturing to use and end of life. Twelve principles for ‘green’ batteries are outlined, and it is argued that joint industrial, academic, and policy efforts are essential to building a truly sustainable energy future. Abstract Batteries will play a pivotal
