Photochromic Diarylethene‐doped SU‐8 for Rewritable Optics and Integrated Photonic Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A CMOS‐compatible photochromic host–guest material platform is realized by incorporating diarylethene molecules into SU‐8 photoresist. Reversible photoisomerization enables light‐programmable optical absorption, allowing rewritable optical patterning and port‐selective attenuation in integrated waveguides.

Eliminating Plastic Pollution: How a Voluntary Contribution From Industry Will Drive the Circular Plastics Economy

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2019
Marine plastic pollution is a symptom of an inherently wasteful linear plastic economy, costing us more than US$ 2.2 trillion per year. Of the 6.3 billion tonnes of fossil fuel-derived plastic (FFP) waste produced to date, only 9% has been recycled; the ...

A negative feedback between anthropogenic ozone pollution and enhanced ocean emissions of iodine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Naturally emitted from the oceans, iodine compounds efficiently destroy atmospheric ozone and reduce its positive radiative forcing effects in the troposphere.
