Structure and electrochromism of two-dimensional octahedral molecular sieve h’-WO3
Thanks to their versatile redox behaviors, octahedral molecular sieves show promise in a range of electrochemical applications. Here the authors report a hexagonal polymorph of tungsten trioxide, an octahedral molecular sieve that exhibits fast proton ...

Isomerization Mechanisms of a Labile Co(II) Octahedral Complex
The labile cobalt (II) complex [Co(TUF)2(Pic)2] with 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(2-thienyl)-1,3-butanedione (TUF) bidentate and 4-methylpyridine (Pic) monodentate ligands was studied by variable temperature (VT) 19F NMR from 184 to 312 K.

Fe─NC porous oxygen reduction electrocatalysts are prepared employing a 2,4,6‐Triaminopyrimidine‐based porous organic polymer, a Mg2+ Lewis acid, and a low‐temperature cation exchange protocol. Using the polymer precursor achieves high pyrolysis yields and results in atomically dispersed FeNx sites. The resulting catalysts feature hierarchical porosity

Octahedrality and Gâteaux smoothness
We prove that every Banach space admitting a Gateaux smooth norm and containing a complemented copy of $\ell_1$ has an equivalent renorming which is simultaneously Gâteaux smooth and octahedral. This is a partial solution to a problem from the early nineties.

In situ TEM uncovers the atomic‐scale mechanisms underlying hydrogen‐driven γ‐Fe2O3→Fe3O4→FeO reduction. In γ‐Fe2O3, oxygen vacancies cluster around intrinsic Fe vacancies, leading to nanopore formation, whereas in Fe3O4, vacancy aggregation is suppressed, preserving a dense structure.

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals are promising scintillators but suffer from reabsorption losses and limited compatibility with high‐Z additives. Hybridization of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals with PbBr2‐passivated HfO2 nanoparticle sensitizers, achieved during or after synthesis, produces stable composites with maintained optical quality, improved ...

Comparison of Octahedral and Spherical Nanoparticles for Plasmonics
Monocrystalline metallic nanoparticles are preferable for plasmonic applications, but grow only in polyhedral shapes, which deviate from the predominantly employed spherical shape.

Predicting the Photoelectron Spectra of Quasi Octahedral Al6Mo‐ Cluster
We have recently developed a computational methodology to separate the effects of size, composition, symmetry and fluxionality in explaining the experimental photoelectron spectra of mixed‐metal clusters.

It is shown that interfaces between organic and inorganic layers govern long‐range stacking disorder and in‐plane anisotropy in 2D metal‐halide perovskites. By comparing single‐cation AB‐AB and ordered mixed‐cation ABCD‐ABCD stackings, SCXRD reveals enhanced mosaicity, while optics confirm high birefringence.

Crystal structure and Mössbauer study of FeAl2O4
In this work the synthesis of hercynite from Fe2O3 and Al2O3 powders was carried out by arc-melting method under the protective argon atmosphere. The obtained material was characterized with the use of powder X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and Mössbauer ...
