Trans-effect and trans-influence series for phosphanes in octahedral environment: A guide for design of new catalysts

By a kinetic approach, the trans-effects and trans-influences of nineteen tertiary phosphane ligands were evaluated for a hexacoordinated d6-low spin metal center. Plots of specific rate constants versus formal potentials for Ru(III)/Ru(II) couples provide a simple, reliable and efficient method to predict phosphane reactivity and are useful as a guide

Substitutional disorder in the system Mg1 − x Cu2 + x O3: Cu2+ in a compressed octahedral environment

Abstract In the system Mg1 − x Cu2 + x O3 the phase with x = 0, i.e. the compound MgCu2O3, does not exist. Neutron powder measurements and single crystal X-ray studies clearly show that the Mg lattice site is partially occupied by Cu2+ ions with typical values of x = 0.1.
