Fluorescent octahedron and rounded-octahedron coordination polymer particles (CPPs)

CrystEngComm, 2010
Narrowly-dispersed fluorescent octahedron and rounded-octahedron coordination polymer particles (CPPs) have been synthesized from the solvothermal reaction of In(NO3)3·xH2O and 2,6-bis[(4-carboxyanilino)carbonyl]pyridine. The shape and size of the resulting CPPs were dependent on the amount of solvent (and thus the concentration of reactants) used in ...

Micro Regular Octahedron and Truncated Octahedron Cavities on 111 Oriented Silicon Wafer

2008 8th IEEE Conference on Nanotechnology, 2008
Octahedron cavities fabricated on -oriented silicon wafer combining with the dry etching of reactive ion etching-inductively coupled plasma (RIE-ICP) and the wet etching of ethylene diamine, pyrocatechol, and water (EDP/EPW) were investigated. The etching characteristics are analyzed depending on different etching conditions, and regular or irregular ...

A LECTURE ON THE OCTAHEDRON

Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 2003
Algebraic solutions to the classical Painlevé sixth equation PVI are explicitly constructed by solving linear systems with monodromy contained in the octahedral subgroup of \(SO(3)\). The author starts transforming the conventional linear \(2\times2\)-matrix ODE associated to PVI into a 3-vector form.

Deformable Octahedron Burrowing Robot

Artificial Life 13, 2012
This paper explores the use of a deformable octahedron robot as an alternative for the autonomous exploration of complex confined spaces, voids and tunneling structures. Current robotic platforms lack the capabilities for adapting their shape when moving through intricate sections of cavities.

Octahedrons with Equally Many Lattice Points

Periodica Mathematica Hungarica, 2000
For positive integers \(n,r\) denote by \(p_n(r)\) the number of points \((x_1,\hdots,x_n)\in {\mathbb Z}^n\) satisfying \(|x_1|+\hdots+|x_n|\leq r\). \textit{L. Hajdu} [Acta Math. Hung. 78, No. 1-2, 59-70 (1998; Zbl 0903.11011); Publ. Math. 51, No.
