Pure Even Harmonic Generation from Oriented CO in Linearly Polarized Laser Fields
The first high harmonic spectrum, containing only the odd orders, was observed in experiments 30 years ago (1987). However, a spectrum containing pure even harmonics has never been observed.

The pupillary response of cephalopods [PDF]
This paper provides the first detailed description of the time courses of light-evoked pupillary constriction for two species of cephalopods, Sepia officinalis (a cuttlefish) and Eledone cirrhosa (an octopus).

Mapping molluscan endocrinology: a systematic and critical appraisal
ABSTRACT Historically, a vertebrate‐centric paradigm has framed our interpretation of molluscan endocrinology, with considerable research focusing on vertebrate‐type steroid hormones (e.g. oestrogens, testosterone). However, contradictory evidence on the occurrence of vertebrate‐type steroid hormones in molluscan tissues, and a lack of the specific ...

Three populations of hair cells have a distinct expression of Calb1 and Calb2. (A, A′D) The central is highly positive for Calb1 while surrounding HC are positive for Calb2. Later, a calyx forms primarily with Calb1. (B, B′, D′, D″) Saccule and utricle start out positive for Calb2 but will upregulate the Calb1 in the striola that is primarily forming ...

Reduced Density-Matrix Approach to Strong Matter-Photon Interaction
We present a first-principles approach to electronic many-body systems strongly coupled to cavity modes in terms of matter-photon one-body reduced density matrices.
