A large multi-ethnic genome-wide association study identifies novel genetic loci for intraocular pressure. [PDF]
Elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) is a major risk factor for glaucoma, a leading cause of blindness. IOP heritability has been estimated to up to 67%, and to date only 11 IOP loci have been reported, accounting for 1.5% of IOP variability.

Sacrificial Biofabrication for Vascularization: Concept, Materials, Technologies, and Applications
Vasculature is indispensable for tissue viability in regenerative medicine. The sacrificial biofabrication enables precise fabrication of vascular channels by using temporary templates that are subsequently removed. This review defines the concept and delves into sacrificial materials, surrounding materials, fabrication technologies, and biomedical ...

Ophthalmic ocular hypertension an atypical case
Introduction: phacolytic ocular hypertension is a condition where an increase in intraocular pressure is observed; which is secondary to the obstruction of the trabecular meshwork due to the deposition of high molecular weight crystalline proteins and ...

The effects of repeated Ozurdex injections on ocular hypertension
Purpose The purpose of this study was to correlate the degree of ocular hypertension with the number of Ozurdex injections. Methods Intraocular pressure (IOP) fluctuations for a total of 183 injections were studied over a period of at least 12 months ...

This work demonstrates that endothelial EphA4 limits Tie2 activation and curbs leptomeningeal collateral expansion after ischemic stroke. Pharmacological activation of Tie2 by an Ang‐1 mimetic or genetic loss of EphA4 stimulates collateral vessel growth, improves cerebral perfusion, and enhances neurological recovery.

Targeting Adipose Tissue Function Protects Against Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction
This study explores the role adipose tissue (AT) phenotypes have in determining cardiovascular outcomes in an obesity‐related heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) model. Pharmacological induction of thermogenesis promoted resilience to HFpEF‐induced remodeling of AT and conferred cardioprotection. Surgical and genetic models confirmed
