Roles of Prostaglandins and Hydrogen Sulfide in an Outflow Model of the Porcine Ocular Anterior Segment Ex Vivo

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Background: Hydrogen sulfide (H2S)-releasing compounds can reduce intraocular pressure in normotensive rabbits by increasing aqueous humor (AH) outflow through the trabecular meshwork.

An Aggregation‐Induced Polymerization Poly(Disulfide)‐Drug Nanoplatform for Autoimmune Uveitis Therapy via Inhibiting the cGAS‐STING Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cationic poly(disulfide)‐drug nanoplatform (LA/DexP) was developed to treat experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU). With potent blood‐retinal barrier penetrability, LA/DexP releases DSP in response to high ROS and scavenges cfDNA to inhibit the cGAS‐STING signaling pathway.

Magnetoelectric Nanoparticles Enable Modulation of Cortical Networks by Low‐Intensity Static Magnetic Fields In Vitro

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuromodulation strategies are increasingly needed to stimulate, restore, or replace altered neuronal activity in disease. Cobalt ferrite‐barium titanate (CFO–BTO) magnetoelectric nanoparticles convert low‐intensity static magnetic fields into local electrical modulation of cortical networks.

Postural Effects on Intraocular Pressure and Ocular Perfusion Pressure in Patients with Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (.pdf)

open access: yes, 2016
The aim of this study was to investigate postural effects on intraocular pressure (IOP) and ocular perfusion pressure (OPP) in patients with non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION)

Loss of SHP1 in Spinal Astrocytes Triggers T‐Lymphocyte Infiltration and Nociceptive Hypersensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocyte‐specific SHP1 deletion disrupts astrocyte–vascular interactions and compromises BBB integrity while enhancing STAT1‐dependent CXCL10 expression. These changes synergistically promote peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration into the SDH. The infiltrating T cells secrete IFN‐γ, which in turn activates microglia.

Detection of early ocular circulatory changes in Takayasu arteritis using laser speckle flowgraphy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports
Purpose: To describe a case of early-stage Takayasu arteritis (TA) in which ocular hypoperfusion was detected using laser speckle flowgraphy (LSFG) and subsequently monitored during systemic corticosteroid therapy.

Engineering Ultrastable Intrinsic Radicals: Graphene Quantum Dots With NIR‐II Emission for Dynamic Deep‐Tissue Bioimaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stable radicals are attractive for photonic and quantum information technologies but are often limited by instability. We stabilize intrinsic radicals in graphene quantum dots via 2D polymerization of perylene derivatives, where bilayer defect confinement suppresses quenching (100–500 K).
