Comparison of Ocular Pulse Amplitude Measured Using Dynamic Contour Tonometry and Ocular Blood Flow Analyzer

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society, 2015
Purpose: To compare ocular pulse amplitude (OPA) measured using dynamic contour tonometry (DCT) and ocular blood flow analyzer (BFA). Methods: Thirty-five eyes of 35 patients were enrolled in this cross-sectional and retrospective study. OPA was measured using DCT. Pulse amplitude (PA) and pulsatile ocular blood flow were measured using BFA.

Cerebrovascular pulsatility following long duration spaceflight is associated with changes in pulse pressure and carotid artery stiffness

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Central artery stiffening increases the haemodynamic pulsations transmitted downstream towards target organs, including the brain. While recent evidence suggests that long duration spaceflight is associated with reduced common carotid artery (CCA) distensibility, cerebrovascular pulsatility has not been extensively characterized in astronauts.

Pressure-Induced Stromal Keratopathy after Surface Ablation Surgery

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmology
Introduction: The purpose of this clinical report was to describe an unprecedented case of bilateral pressure-induced stromal keratopathy (PISK) following corneal photorefractive keratectomy, associated with presumed herpetic keratitis, and to present ...

Exploring physiological factors underlying individual differences in exercise‐induced blood pressure responses

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Even among healthy individuals, arterial blood pressure (ABP) responses to exercise vary widely. However, the mechanisms underlying this individual variability remain unclear. To investigate these mechanisms, 29 participants performed isometric handgrip exercise at 30% of their maximum voluntary contraction, followed by postexercise muscle ...

On‐feet isometric bracing maintains cerebral arterial blood velocity during lower body negative pressure via preload augmentation

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Orthostatic stress reduces venous return and stroke volume (SV), risking cerebral hypoperfusion despite autonomic compensation. Although lower‐limb counterpressure manoeuvres improve cerebral perfusion in upright posture, their effects on cerebral blood velocity (CBV) during lower‐body negative pressure (LBNP) and the associated mechanisms are

Repeatability of retinal vessel flicker responses in healthy individuals

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 2, Page e165-e172, March 2026.
Abstract Purpose To determine the repeatability of retinal blood vessel parameters (from proprietary software and the raw vessel data) measured in vivo in healthy individuals at rest, during and post flicker light (FL) provocation using a standardised protocol.
