High Ammonia and Low pH in the Urine of the Ghost Crab, Ocypode quadrata

open access: yesThe Biological Bulletin, 1994
Nitrogen excreted into the urine (100 mM were found in the urine of laboratory-held Ocypode quadrata, suggesting that this notion might not be applicable to all crustaceans. To address this issue, hemolymph and urine were removed from freshly captured O. quadrata and analyzed for nitrogenous catabolites and major ions. Hemolymph composition was similar

Comparative morphology of the seminal receptacles of Ocypode quadrata (Fabricius, 1787) (Brachyura, Ocypodoidea) [PDF]

open access: yesZootaxa, 2009
The seminal receptacles of the Eubrachyura are an ecto-mesodermic differentiation of the genital ducts where the spermatophores are stored and fertilization takes place.
