Bone histological evidence for posture‐related load transmission in the talpid pectoral girdle

Bone histology of the clavicle and scapula revealed distinct load‐bearing roles within the mammalian pectoral girdle associated with different forelimb postures. Hyper‐abducted moles exhibited an enhanced load‐bearing role of the clavicle, whereas the parasagittal shrew exhibited histological features consistent with the scapula acting as the principal
