Metabolic rewiring enables ammonium assimilation via a non-canonical fumarate-based pathway. [PDF]
Glutamate is an abundant cellular metabolite that serves as a major donor of amino groups for the synthesis of nitrogen‐containing metabolites. Many bacteria can use either the glutamate dehydrogenase‐ or the glutamine synthetase/glutamate synthase‐dependent route for de novo synthesis of glutamate.

The Brain-Gut Axis in Parkinson's Disease Pathology. [PDF]
Exposure to environmental toxins induces gut dysbiosis, increases intestinal epithelial barrier permeability, immune activation, and oxidative stress, promoting α‐syn misfolding and propagation. Brainstem DMV neurons exhibit α‐syn pathology, dysregulating neuronal excitability and vagal control of GI functions.

Small Extracellular Vesicles from Neural Cells: Physiological and Pathological Roles, and Potential in Neurodegenerative Therapy. [PDF]
Neural cell–derived small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are emerging as pivotal mediators in neurodegenerative diseases, exerting both pathogenic and therapeutic functions. This review synthesizes current evidence on how sEVs from distinct neural cell types regulate neurodegeneration, neuroprotection, biomarker discovery, and targeted drug delivery ...

Regulation of neural stem cells by innervating neurons. [PDF]
To “build” the brain, neural stem and precursor cells (NPCs) first proliferate, and then differentiate into neurons and glia (astrocytes and oligodendrocytes) in a strict spatiotemporal manner. “Maintenance” of adult brain function requires a continuous generation of neurons and glia via adult NPCs, which are also required for replacement of damaged or

In this study, a novel peptide (LRP) was extracted from the fruiting bodies of L. rhinocerotis using gel filtration chromatography. We determined the amino acid sequence of LRP, which was conducive to its artificial synthesis. Moreover, with NF‐κB as the target, the neuroprotective function of LRP was explored.
