Bioactive Phenolics of Lygeum spartum L.: Insights Into Antioxidant, Anticholinesterase, and Antityrosinase Activities

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Phenolic profile and bioactivity of Lygeum spartum L. ABSTRACT The phenolic composition of roots and leaves of Lygeum spartum L., a Mediterranean Poaceae species, was analyzed by HPLC–DAD, revealing an organ‐specific distribution of phenolic compounds, with ferulic acid identified as the predominant phenolic compound in the methanolic leaf extract (4 ...

Chemical Characterization and Pharmacological Activity of Byrsonima crassifolia (L.) Kunth (Murici): Antinociceptive Effects, Edema Reduction, and Molecular Docking

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Hydroethanolic extracts from Byrsonima crassifolia leaves and bark exhibit potent anti‐inflammatory and antinociceptive activities in zebrafish. Phenolic compounds, particularly kaempferol‐3‐O‐rutinoside, isoquercitrin, and rutin, target TRPA1, TRPV1, and COX‐2, integrating phytochemical, biological, and molecular docking evidence to support murici as ...

Unprecedented 4/7 Bicyclic Carbon Skeleton Sesquiterpenoids With Anti‐Inflammatory Activities Isolated From the Root of Lindera glauca

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Glasesquiterpenoid A (1) with an unprecedented 4/7 bicyclic carbon skeleton was the first example reported in the class of sesquiterpenoids. ABSTRACT Six new sesquiterpenoids glasesquiterpenoids A−F (1−6), together with two known ones, 7 and 8, were coisolated from the root of Lindera glauca.

Chemical Constituents of the Deep‐Sea‐Derived Fungus Talaromyces wortmannii and Their Ferroptosis Inhibitory Activity

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
One new tyramine derivative (1) and 28 known compounds (2–29) were isolated from deep‐sea‐derived fungus Talaromyces wortmannii. Their structures were elucidated by NMR/MS and computational calculations. Compounds 2 and 6 potently inhibited ferroptosis with EC5₀ values of 4.52 and 13.73 µM.

The Chemical Constituents From Borojo and Their Anti‐Inflammatory Activity

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Three new cyclopentenes and one new fused‑ring compound were isolated from borojo. BLH‑1, BLH‑5, and BLH‑9 inhibited TNF‑α and IL‐6 release, while BLH‑1, BLH‑2, BLH‑4, BLH‑6, and BLH‑7 reduced neutrophil migration in zebrafish models. BLH‑1 was found to suppress NF‑κB and STAT3 pathways, suggesting borojo is a promising source of anti‑inflammatory ...
