Targeting Melanoma‐Specific Tyrosinase Disrupts Cytoskeleton Dynamics for Precision Apoptosis Induction by a De Novo Designed Cyclic Peptide

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study develops a tyrosinase‐activated cyclic peptide self‐assembly system to combat drug‐resistant melanoma. Cyclization of tyrosine/lysine‐rich peptides via ortho‐phthalaldehyde enables tyrosinase‐triggered quinone formation and nanostructure assembly, disrupting melanoma cell cytoskeletons by blocking actin polymerization and inducing apoptosis.

Development and Psychometric Validation of the Chinese Online Disinhibition Scale for Adolescents

open access: yesPsyCh Journal, Volume 15, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Online disinhibition significantly influences adolescents' communication and behaviors in digital environments, yet culturally adapted measurement tools remain limited in China. This study aimed to develop and validate a Chinese version of the Online Disinhibition Scale (ODS‐C) based on Suler's (2004) theoretical framework.

Upcycling of Mixed Fruit Juice By‐Products for Flour Production and Application in Plant‐Based Burgers

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Agro‐industrial by‐product valorization has emerged as an important strategy for developing sustainable functional ingredients aligned with circular economy principles. This study aimed to produce flour from mixed juice processing residues composed of strawberry, pineapple, and ginger and to evaluate its application in plant‐based burger ...

Development of a Quantitative Method to Assess Dental Students' Manual Dexterity in Tooth Cavity Preparation

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Dental Education, Volume 30, Issue 3, Page 1098-1105, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study aims to develop a novel method for objectively assessing dental students' manual dexterity in tooth cavity preparation using 3D technology. Materials and Methods An artificial tooth model compatible with traditional dental simulators was created using 3D scanning and printing technology.

Structural Brain Correlates of Speech Disfluency in Early Childhood: A Dimensional Analysis in a Population‐Based Cohort

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 64, Issue 4, August 2026.
FinnBrain 5‐year‐olds (N = 120): speech disfluency measured continuously (SLDs/ODs) from conversational samples. Whole‐brain VBM tested grey matter–disfluency links. Higher SLDs showed robust positive GMV associations in left middle frontal gyrus and right superior frontal gyrus across model checks; ODs and cortical thickness/surface area showed no ...

Enduring autism‐like phenotypes and deregulated hypothalamic prosocial peptides after early‐life exposure to indoor flame retardants in male C57BL/6 mice

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are neuroendocrine‐disrupting chemicals that produce adverse neurodevelopmental effects. PBDEs have been implicated as risk factors for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which is characterized by abnormal psychosocial functioning and is commonly comorbid with cognitive deficits and sensory abnormalities ...

Interactive effects of rearing densities and dietary vitamin E levels on growth, stress, and immune responses, and antioxidant status in triploid rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 57, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the interactive effects of rearing densities and supra‐nutritional levels of vitamin E on fish performance. Triploid rainbow trout juveniles (40.44 ± 1.27 g) were distributed into 18 tanks at medium (MD, 30 kg/m3, 45 fish/tank) and high (HD, 60 kg/m3, 90 fish/tank) densities.

Rice EMF3 Alleles Adjust Flower Opening Time to Enhance the Seed Setting Rate Under High Temperature Stress

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 8, Page 4780-4798, August 2026.
ABSTRACT To safeguard global food security against rapid population growth and a warming world, the effective genetic improvement of cereals is imperative. Flower opening time (FOT) critically affects the seed setting rate. In this study, we identified a gene, EARLY‐MORNING FLOWERING 3 (EMF3), in which single‐nucleotide substitutions strongly modulate ...

DNAJC12 Stabilizes Phenylalanine Hydroxylase and Facilitates Its Substrate‐Dependent Activation

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 14, 31 July 2026.
Substrate‐induced activation of PAH by L‐Phe involves dimerization of its regulatory domains (RD), with L‐Phe binding in the dimeric RD interface. The J‐domain protein DNAJC12 binds this activated conformation, stabilizing PAH and delaying aggregation, while reducing the substrate concentration required for activation.
