The function of direct speech in Bacchylides' poetry: the case of ode 5 and ode 18
, 2017 This paper is aimed at analysing Bacchylides’ narrative choices and the role played by and the effects of direct speech in two poems of his, namely ode 5 and ode 18. The use of direct speech in these odes allows the poet to achieve narrative effects that would be unthinkable by resorting only to an extradiegetic narrator and to pure narrative.

DNAJC12 Stabilizes Phenylalanine Hydroxylase and Facilitates Its Substrate‐Dependent Activation
The FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 14, 31 July 2026.Substrate‐induced activation of PAH by L‐Phe involves dimerization of its regulatory domains (RD), with L‐Phe binding in the dimeric RD interface. The J‐domain protein DNAJC12 binds this activated conformation, stabilizing PAH and delaying aggregation, while reducing the substrate concentration required for activation.

Cooperative mutations and motif exchanges reprogram substrate preference, enabling the incorporation of non‐native extender units and expanding polyketide structural diversity, with gains in activity and product yield.

Solvent‐, Catalyst‐, and Heating‐Free Mechanochemical Depolymerization of Polyurethane
ChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.A sustainable mechanochemical strategy is developed for polyurethane depolymerization under ambient conditions using only NaOH. Ball milling enables efficient urethane bond cleavage, allowing up to 69% polyol recovery from commercial PU foams within 3 h. This energy‐efficient approach offers a novel route for polyurethane recycling.
