ABSTRACT Plant‐derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) have shown numerous health benefits, including modulation of the human gut microbiota. Herein, we employed isothermal microcalorimetry (IMC) to explore the effects of ginger‐derived nanovesicles (G‐NVs) on the growth and metabolic activity of Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron (Bt), a dominant saccharolytic

From atoms to a data bank: optimizing transferability of electron‐density symmetry
This work focuses on the electron density of atoms modeled with a multipolar approach. We investigate how the refinement of the multipole models with/without symmetry constraints and optimization of the orientation of the local coordinate system and pseudosymmetry assignment improves the accuracy of electron‐density representations for atoms and atom ...

The function of direct speech in Bacchylides' poetry: the case of ode 5 and ode 18
This paper is aimed at analysing Bacchylides’ narrative choices and the role played by and the effects of direct speech in two poems of his, namely ode 5 and ode 18. The use of direct speech in these odes allows the poet to achieve narrative effects that would be unthinkable by resorting only to an extradiegetic narrator and to pure narrative.

The present study examined the succession and carbon source utilization of fungi associated with moss profiles and to identify the metabolic traits that were linked to the successional status. We showed that the successional status of microfungi in decomposing tissues of Hylocomium splendens was affected not by the taxonomic group but by the potential ...

Cognitive Rehabilitation Interventions in the Intensive Care Unit: A Systematic Integrative Review
ABSTRACT Background Because critical illness, sedation, and ICU treatment commonly disrupt attention, memory, and executive function, early cognitive rehabilitation during the ICU stay may preserve or restore these capacities, reduce the delirium burden, and support engagement and recovery.
