Tick‐borne diseases in subtropical dairy farming: The role of calf rearing strategies in antibody and antigen prevalence Enfermedades Transmitidas por Garrapatas en la Ganadería Lechera subtropical: El Papel de las Estrategias de Crianza de Terneros en la Prevalencia de Anticuerpos y Antígenos

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
Tropical farmers try to adapt calf‐rearing systems to temperate dairy industry standards. Calves in tick‐infested areas develop stronger immunity to TBD under controlled exposure to ticks. Early tick exposure promotes sustainable management, balancing tick infestation and developing TBD immunity.

Genetic Dissection of Wheat Heterosis Identifies Candidate Genes in Biparental and Diverse Hybrid Populations

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Understanding how numerous heterotic quantitative trait loci (hQTL) shape heterosis and shifting from hQTL to candidate genes are central challenges. To address these challenges, we performed a systematic, genome‐wide mapping in a biparental population and a population of diverse hybrids.

Fusarium verticillioides seed inoculation modifies maize cell wall responses to subsequent Sesamia nonagrioides infestation

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Prior seed inoculation with Fusarium verticillioides altered the maize cell wall response to Sesamia nonagrioides attack. The combined biotic interaction promoted specific changes in lignin composition and hydroxycinnamate accumulation, suggesting that stress history modulates inducible structural defences.
