A genetic algorithm simheuristic for solving the stochastic project portfolio selection problem with portfolio reliability constraints

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 6, Page 4039-4071, November 2026.
Abstract In response to the increasing complexity of modern products, dynamic markets, and intensified competition, project‐based organizations are actively seeking methodologies to efficiently manage their expanding project portfolios. This paper analyzes the project portfolio selection problem in uncertain environments. Despite recent advances in the

Pathogenic PF4/Polyanion ELISA‐Negative Antibodies in HIT

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 101, Issue 8, Page 1790-1798, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Platelet factor 4‐polyanion enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) are considered highly sensitive for diagnosing heparin‐induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), such that current practice guidelines recommend use of ELISA‐negative results to exclude HIT.

Optimized SPE‐HPLC‐FLD Method for the Simultaneous Determination of Olaparib, Propranolol, and Furosemide in Human Urine

open access: yesBiomedical Chromatography, Volume 40, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Olaparib belongs to the PARP inhibitors and is widely used as an anticancer drug. Due to frequent side effects, it is usually co‐administered with an antihypertensive, such as propranolol and/or an antidiuretic, such as furosemide. In this study, a highly sensitive HPLC‐FLD method was developed for the simultaneous determination of the three ...

Solvent‐, Catalyst‐, and Heating‐Free Mechanochemical Depolymerization of Polyurethane

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
A sustainable mechanochemical strategy is developed for polyurethane depolymerization under ambient conditions using only NaOH. Ball milling enables efficient urethane bond cleavage, allowing up to 69% polyol recovery from commercial PU foams within 3 h. This energy‐efficient approach offers a novel route for polyurethane recycling.

Herbivore Identity and Species Richness Shape Fruit Chemical and Quality Responses to Foliar Herbivory

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
The cascading effects of foliar herbivory on specialized metabolism, specifically within reproductive tissue like fruit, are relatively understudied. We conducted a greenhouse experiment with varying combinations of three common pest species on fruiting strawberry plants.

Enhancement of FeCrAl-ODS steels through optimised SPS parameters and addition of novel nano-oxide formers

open access: yes
A novel approach to incorporating oxide formers into ferritic ODS production has been developed using the co-precipitation technique. This method enables the tailored design of complex nano-oxides, integrated during Mechanical Alloying (MA) and ...

Mitigation of Hepatic and Pancreatic Injury by Spondias tuberosa Extract Through Oxidative Enzyme Modulation and TGF‐β Downregulation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Treatment with Spondias tuberosa extract ameliorated pancreatic and hepatic morphological damage in STZ‐induced diabetic rats, potentially by reducing oxidative stress and modulating profibrotic signaling mediated by TGF‐β. ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder marked by hyperglycemia due to impaired insulin secretion and/or ...

Accessible Climate and Impact Model Output for Studying the Human and Environmental Impacts of Nuclear Conflict

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 13, Issue 3, July 2026.
When a nuclear weapon is detonated in a region with sufficient fuel loading, the resulting firestorm can lift soot into the stratosphere, where it disperses globally over a few weeks. The soot, or black carbon, blocks sunlight, decreasing temperature and precipitation and depleting ozone.
