Experimental broadband OFDM system: field results for OFDM and OFDM with frequency domain spreading [PDF]

open access: possibleProceedings IEEE 56th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2003
The paper presents link performance results of a series of field experiments conducted for OFDM and spread-OFDM/MC-CDMA in the context of a fourth-generation cellular system (4G) downlink. The experimental system is a 20 MHz 2/spl times/2 MIMO-OFDM system operating at a carrier frequency of 3.676 GHz.

Performance comparison of DFT-OFDM, DCT-OFDM, and DWT-OFDM for visible light communications

17th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN2018), 2019
We compare the bit error rate (BER) performances of discrete Fourier transform (DFT), discrete cosine transform (DCT) and discrete wavelet modulation (DWT) based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) schemes for visible light communications (VLC).

The structure design and analysis of OFDM symbol in CO-OFDM system [PDF]

open access: possibleSPIE Proceedings, 2010
The structure of OFDM symbol has great influence on CO-OFDM system. This paper first presents a typical structure of OFDM symbol with virtual subcarriers and pilots for CO-OFDM. Simulation results indicate that the proposed structure is very suitable for CO-OFDM system and with this structure performance of CO-OFDM is improved largely.

Comparison of DCO-OFDM, ADO-OFDM, HDC-OFDM and HNC-OFDM for Optical Wireless Communications

Journal of Optical Communications, 2018
Abstract This paper presents a new form of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) termed as hybrid noise cancelled asymmetrically clipped optical OFDM (HNC-OFDM) for optical wireless communication. This HNC-OFDM is formed by combining the concepts of noise cancelled asymmetrically clipped optical OFDM and DC biased optical ...

VLSI for OFDM

IEEE Communications Magazine, 1998
This article discusses the VLSI implications of high-speed coded orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing modulation. This is achieved by looking at practical examples of the computational blocks that constitute a COFDM modem and then examining examples of COFDM chips.

OFDM: Principles and Challenges [PDF]

open access: possible, 2009
The nature of future wireless applications demands high data rates. Naturally dealing with ever-unpredictable wireless channel at high data rate communications is not an easy task. The idea of multi-carrier transmission has surfaced recently to be used for combating the hostility of wireless channel and providing high data rate communications.

OFDM-MSK: A method for sidelobe suppression in OFDM systems [PDF]

open access: possible20th Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE2012), 2012
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems suffer from high sidelobes level. In some applications, as cognitive radios, this phenomenon can be a serious matter. This paper proposes Minimum shift keying (MSK)-OFDM to address this problem. The proposed method is an OFDM system using MSK modulation in each subcarrier.

Performance of Turbo coded wireless link for SISO-OFDM, SIMO-OFDM, MISO-OFDM and MIMO-OFDM system

14th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (ICCIT 2011), 2011
In this paper, performance of a Turbo coded OFDM wireless link is evaluated in the presence of Rayleigh fading for SISO, SIMO, MISO and MIMO system. Data are encoded using turbo encoder then modulated by QPSK or 16 QAM or 64 QAM and further encoded using STBC, and the encoded data are split into n streams which are modulated by OFDM and simultaneously ...

OFDM Transmission

2011
The details of OFDM, the transmission scheme used in LTE, are described in this chapter. Basic aspects related to OFDM transmission, such as cyclic prefix insertion, FFT-based implementations, single-frequency-network operation, and selection of OFDM parameters are discussed.

Performance comparison between CI/OFDM and OFDM systems

2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS), 2010
Carrier Interferometry Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CI/OFDM) has gained a great deal of attention recently because of its good bit error rate (BER) and low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) performance. In this paper, we investigate the performance of CI/OFDM based on a new implementation model for both zero forcing (ZF) and minimum ...
