Optimization Framework and Graph-Based Approach for Relay-Assisted Bidirectional OFDMA Cellular Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper considers a relay-assisted bidirectional cellular network where the base station (BS) communicates with each mobile station (MS) using OFDMA for both uplink and downlink.

Joint radar-communication waveform designs using signals from multiplexed users [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Joint radar-communication designs are exploited in applications where radar and communications systems share the same frequency band or when both radar sensing and information communication functions are required in the same system.

Statistical analysis of OFDMA assignments

open access: yes2008 IEEE International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems, 2008
In this paper we investigate statistical properties of IP optimal subcarrier assignments in the down-link of an OFDMA cell. Essentially, we show that such subcarrier assignments do have ?hidden? statistical properties which can be exploited to design an extremely simple assignment strategy.

Buffer sharing on an OFDMA downlink

open access: yes21st Annual IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2010
In this work we consider the allocation of buffer space to data streams sharing a common high-speed wireless transmitter. As an example, we focus on an OFDMA-based downlink system scenario. Scheduling for maximum throughput has been extensively studied in the literature.

Generalized Network-Coded Cooperation in OFDMA Communications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Cooperative communication is a well-established technique to obtain diversity and consequently combat the fading inherent to the wireless channel. In a recent work, network-coded cooperation (NCC) along with graph theory-aided subcarrier allocation was ...

Multiuser Radio Resource Allocation for Multiservice Transmission in OFDMA-Based Cooperative Relay Networks

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2009
The problem of multiservice transmission in OFDMA-based cooperative relay networks is studied comprehensively. We propose a framework to adaptively allocate power, subcarriers, and data rate in OFDMA system to maximize spectral efficiency under the ...

Dimensioning of 5G Networks by Using Stochastic Geometry

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information and Communication Technology Research, 2021
In this paper, we propose an analytical model for dimensioning of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) systems in 5G networks by considering Internet of Thing (IoT) application using stochastic geometry.

An Efficient Backoff Procedure for IEEE 802.11ax Uplink OFDMA-Based Random Access

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
IEEE 802.11ax stations can use multi-user (MU) uplink OFDMA-based random access (UORA) to improve per-station throughput in dense deployments in comparison to legacy IEEE 802.11 single-user access.
