Adaptive downlink OFDMA resource allocation [PDF]

open access: yes2008 42nd Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2008
Optimizing OFDMA resource allocation with respect to communication performance requires solving a nonlinear mixed-integer programming problem. As a result, many researchers have fallen back on suboptimal heuristic algorithms. In a recent paper, we demonstrate that ergodic rate maximization is possible using a dual optimization framework that results in

An improved affinity propagation method for maximising system sum rate and minimising interference for 3D multi‐UAV placement in disaster area

open access: yesIET Networks, Volume 14, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In emergency situations where ground base stations are disabled, UAVs, due to their low cost and high adaptability, restore communication coverage in remote areas. The main challenge is optimally determining the three‐dimensional positions of the UAVs to meet dynamic user demand and reduce interference.

Joint User Scheduling and MU-MIMO Hybrid Beamforming Algorithm for mmWave FDMA Massive MIMO System

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2016
The large bandwidth and multipath in millimeter wave (mmWave) cellular system assure the existence of frequency selective channels; it is necessary that mmWave system remains with frequency division multiple access (FDMA) and user scheduling. But for the

Adaptive power management for multiaccess edge computing‐based 6G‐inspired massive Internet of Things

open access: yesIET Wireless Sensor Systems, Volume 15, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The paper proposes a containerised edge computing model for power optimisation in 6G‐inspired massive Internet‐of‐Things applications. The problem is formulated as a central processing unit energy consumption cost function based on quasi‐finite system observations. Results show that the model performs better compared to a competitive baseline algorithm.
